Falvey, 33, is currently the assistant general manager for the Cleveland Indians. Twins Daily's Jeremy Nygaard was the first to report on Falvey as the potential hire.

BringMeTheNews has reached out to the Twins for comment.

Falvey began his career as an Indians intern in 2007 and worked his way up the organization. He worked in the scouting department from 2008-2010 and quickly jumped ranks as assistant director of baseball operations and then director of baseball ops. He was named assistant GM last October.

According to MLB Daily Dish, Falvey is highly regarded when it comes to player development.

There's been speculation that the Twins could also hire a new general manager, although Rob Antony has been considered a candidate to keep the job. Antony was named interim GM after Terry Ryan was let go earlier this season.

The Twins (56-100) wrap up the 2016 season with a pair of road series against the Royals and White Sox.
