Twins call up Butera, designate Burroughs for assignment

Drew Butera was called up from Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday. He'll backup Ryan Doumit at catcher. Joe Mauer is back in the Twins' lineup as the DH, but he's still sore after taking a foul tip to his left knee on Sunday. The Twins designated Jason Marquis for assignment on Tuesday and called up Cole De Vries from AAA Rochester. De Vries, a righthander from Eden Prairie, will make his big league debut Thursday in Chicago. The Twins also announced Anthony Swarzak will start on Friday.
