This is straight up radio speculation, but when the play-by-play voice of the Vikings gets a text from what he calls a reliable source about soon-to-be free agent quarterback Kirk Cousins, you should probably listen.

Via KFAN, the text to Paul Allen read: "Listening to you, I'm told Cousins has been telling people this week the Vikings are #1 with a bullet on his preference list. If offers are similar he's taking the Vikings."

Allen added that the text came from someone with an "incredibly well respected opinion."

Wherever Cousins does end up, he's likely going to get one of the richest contracts in NFL history. ESPN's Bill Barnwell thinks Cousins will reach $90 million in the first three years of any contract he signs, which is more than any current quarterback is earning.

"Is money part it? Sure. Is it the only thing? No," Cousins told Pro Football Talk this week. "It's about winning and that's what I want more than anything, so I'm going to be willing to make sacrifices or do what has to be done to make sure I'm in the best possible position to win."

Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen seems to be on the Cousins bandwagon. During a Thursday appearance on NFL Network, Thielen called him a "heck of a football player" who he'd love to play with if the Vikings don't bring back Case Keenum, Sam Bradford or Teddy Bridgewater.
