For the second time in three years the Vikings will open the season on Monday Night Football. They'll host the New Orleans Saints, Monday, Sept. 11 from U.S. Bank Stadium.

Interestingly, the Saints are the team Adrian Peterson made his most recent visit to as a free agent – and they're still in communication because the visit went well, according to the Times-Picayune.

Other notable games include an additional Monday Night Football game against the Chicago Bears; another Thanksgiving matchup with the Detroit Lions; a trip to London to play the Cleveland Browns and they'll be in Green Bay for Saturday Night Football on Dec. 23.

Here's what the schedule looks like.

  1. New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football
  2. at Pittsburgh
  3. Tampa Bay
  4. Detroit
  5. at Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football
  6. Green Bay
  7. Baltimore
  8. at Cleveland Browns in London
  9. BYE
  10. at Washington
  11. L.A.
  12. at Detroit (Thanksgiving)
  13. at Atlanta
  14. at Carolina
  15. Cincinnati
  16. at Green Bay on Sunday Night Football
  17. Chicago Bears

The Vikings have home games next season against the Lions, Packers, Bears, Saints, Bucs, Ravens, Bengals and Rams. Their road opponents include the Lions, Packers, Bears, Falcons, Panthers, Steelers, Browns (in London) and Redskins.

The last six weeks of the season will be tough as Minnesota will be on the road for four of those games.

Thankfully the team's bye week is actually near midseason. Last year, the Vikings had their bye in Week 6 and then a ton of injuries pilled up and they never recovered.
