Reports: U.S. Bank Stadium is not open to the homeless on Sunday night

A false tweet on Sunday night caused caught quite the attention of the Twitter world and U.S. Bank Stadium

On Sunday night, there was a false report from a verified Twitter account that claimed the Vikings were allowing the homeless to seek shelter from the freezing temps at U.S. Bank Stadium.

But unfortunately, it was only a rumor.

The tweet sent from David Dellanave – a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – was retweeted over 5,000 times. But local reporters in the Twin Cites and the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority twitter account are denying the report.

Although the Vikings play their games at U.S. Bank Stadium, they do not own the Stadium - the MSFA does. So the team wouldn't be able to make a decision like that.

But the association did provide information on where the homeless can find shelter on this frigid night in the Twin Cities.
