The Argus Leader reports that there is a history of abuse with Patterson. He was also indicted in June 2012 on several counts of simple assault involving an ex-girlfriend and her 3-year old son. Later he was also charged for violating a no-contact order. Patterson was sentenced to one year in jail for both cases, but the time was suspended on the condition he attend domestic violence counseling.

Organizers are hoping the event will bring light to domestic abuse awareness.
