Rick Pitino tells Gophers they're as talented as No. 6 Louisville

A few notes from the Gophers win over South Dakota State Tuesday at The Barn.

Head coach Richard Pitino's father Rick took the game in and was clad in maroon and gold throughout the game, as Tyler Mason of FSN tweeted before the game started.

Here is an interview with the elder Pitino at halftime on Big Ten Network, in which he called the Gophers program "one of the best in the nation."

After the game, Pitino spoke to his son's players, and had very complimentary things to say about Richard's team.

Playing dad was fun for Rick, though he'll surely have his game face on next year should the Gophers and his Cardinals meet, as has been rumored over the last month.
