Ricky Rubio could return to the Timberwolves' lineup for the first time this preseason when they take on the Grizzlies in Memphis.
Rubio said he "felt good today" following his first full practice with the team. Minnesota was taking precautions with Rubio's return following significant ankle/foot injuries he suffered at about the quarter pole of the 2014-15 season. A recent quad injury also slowed him down, the Star Tribune reports.
If everything goes well between now and Sunday, Rubio, per the Pioneer Press, plans to suit up and play Sunday.
NBA experts have yet to see how good Andrew Wiggins, the reigning Rookie of the Year, could be with a true, pass-first point guard like Rubio running Minnesota's offense. At the very least, the Wolves are projected to be an exciting team, if not a playoff competitor in the coming years.
