Ron Gardenhire sells Little Canada home for $751K

Minnesota Twins manager Ron Gardenhire and his wife, Carol, have sold their home in Little Canada for $751,000, the Business Journal reports. That's $1,100 more than the initial asking price.

Gardenhire put the 4,200-square-foot house that walks out to Lake Gervais on the market in February. The 1988 one-story home features a newly renovated kitchen, steam shower and swim spa.

Earlier this year, Gardenhire reportedly bought a home in Fort Myers, Fla., where the Twins train every spring.

Gov. Mark Dayton wants to tax “snowbirds” or people who avoid Minnesota income tax by living outside the state -- typically in warmer climates during the winter months – for more than half the year.

MPR reported Minnesota stands to net an extra $15 million from the tax. However, critics say it would drive away long-term visitors, and their money.
