Salon names Chris Kluwe 'Sexiest Man of 2012'

Minnesota Vikings' punter and gay marriage advocate Chris Kluwe has been named Salon's Sexiest Man of 2012.

In an interview with the online magazine, Kluwe is caught a little off guard by the title, referring to himself as a "nerd video game player," but Salon suggests recent shirtless photos in OUT magazine say otherwise.

Sex symbol aside, Kluwe tops Salon's list for his outspoken support of same-sex marriage that got the public's attention after the football player's scathing letter to a Maryland lawmaker was published on Deadspin.

After football, Kluwe says he might pursue activism through writing or continue running a miniature hobby gaming store in southern California.
