Lindsey Whalen got hers last week, now it's Lynx star forward Seimone Augustus turn.

Augustus signed a multi-year contract extension today with Minnesota, the Star Tribune's Kent Youngblood is reporting, which will lock up the Lynx second-leading scorer for the long term.

Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

Augustus career at LSU was storied, and Minnesota made her the first overall pick in the 2006 WNBA Draft.

Minnesota continued to struggle, but the addition of Maya Moore and acquisition of Lindsey Whalen helped to make the Lynx a perennial contender and 2011 WNBA champion. They've now put up three winning seasons in a row, and with this extension ensure their core group will be together for years to come.
