Sid Hartman Day: Twins honor longtime local broadcasting icon

The Minnesota Twins honored longtime sports columnist and radio personality Sid Hartman before Sunday's afternoon game against the Seattle Mariners.

The Twins renamed the Target Field Press Conference Room in honor of the long-time Star Tribune and WCCO Radio reporter and honored him with a pre-game ceremony.

Sunday morning, Hartman, 94, hosted a live broadcast of "Sports Huddle with Sid and Dave" outside of Target Field, the Twins said.

The first 10,000 adults got a ceramic coffee mug featuring Hartman quotes throughout his career. Fans who purchased a special "Sid Hartman Day" ticket package also got a bobblehead, WCCO reports.

The Twins are looking to sweep the Mariners Sunday afternoon after a 4-3 win Saturday night and 5-4 win Friday.
