Here's a not fun stat: The Vikings were outscored by a combined 33 points in the first six losses of the season and then got butchered by the Colts 34-6 on Sunday.

Not only did the loss essentially kill the Vikings' playoff hopes, it continued a trend of humiliating losses that dates all the way back (and probably a lot further) to 41-donut in the 2000-01 NFC Championship loss to the New York Giants.

The Vikings have lost 13 games by at least 28 points since 41-donut. The ugly history:

  • 2016: Indianapolis, 34-6
  • 2015: Seattle, 38-7
  • 2014: Green Bay, 42-10
  • 2013: Cincinnati, 42-14
  • 2011: Chicago, 39-10
  • 2011: Green Bay, 45-7
  • 2010: Green Bay, 31-3
  • 2007: Green Bay, 34-0
  • 2005: Cincinnati, 37-8
  • 2003: St. Louis, 48-17
  • 2001: Philadelphia, 48-17
  • 2001: Jacksonville, 33-3
  • 2000: New York, 41-0

The winless Cleveland Browns (0-14) have not lost in as lopsided fashion as the Vikings did Sunday. In fact, the Browns have lost by at least 28 points fewer times (10) than the Vikings since the Giants scolded the Vikings 41-donut.
