Sixers slam Wolves for 4th victory of the season

Minnesota Timberwolves 99

Philadelphia 76ers 109

Philadelphia pulled away from the Timberwolves in the second half to pick up a 109-99 victory Monday night.

1. Sixers bench outdoes Wolves

Rookie Richaun Holmes and veteran reserve Carl Landry both played big roles in the Philadelphia victory. Holmes finished with 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting, while Landry chipped in with 16.

They were good compliments to Ish Smith's big night. Smith led the Sixers with a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards.

2. Rubio tries to keep Wolves close

Wolves point guard Ricky Rubio continued to do his part setting up the offense. Rubio finished with seven points and 10 assists in 33 minutes on the court.

3. Rookie battle: Towns vs. Okafor

If you're a Wolves fan undoubtably you remember the debate – Who should the Wolves take with the top pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, Karl-Anthony Towns or Jahlil Okafor?

It wasn't the best night for Towns. He was in foul trouble for a large portion of the night and didn't play well defensively.

On the evening in 25 minutes, Towns finished with eight points and five boards, but Okafor didn't stand out either. He had 10 points and three boards for Philadelphia.
