Son of former Wolves coach Rick Adelman killed crossing the street

RJ Adelman was an assistant coach under his father in Minnesota.

Richard "RJ" Adelman, 44, the son of former Timberwolves head coach Rick Adelman, died last Friday when he was hit by a van while crossing the street in Houston, Texas. 

News of his death wasn't announced until it was reported by TMZ on Thursday. 

Rick Adelman coached the Wolves from 2011-2014, with RJ by his side as an assistant coach on the team.

Police told that Adelman was not in a crosswalk when he was struck. 

The Adelmans' former franchise player in Minnesota, Kevin Love, issued his condolences on Twitter.
