Spielman '100 percent' behind Ponder

Vikings GM Rick Spielman is giving Christian Ponder a vote of confidence.

Spielman says he has a “100-percent belief” Ponder will be the Vikings quarterback of the future.

Spielman told the Associated Press it's important to remain patient with Ponder as he goes through a three-year development plan.

The GM also complimented coach Leslie Frazier, who is in the second year of a three-year contract, saying Frazier is doing "an outstanding job."

Star Tribune writer Dan Wiederer posted a three-part question-by-question log of Spielman's bye week chat with reporters, including his take on the amazing Adrian Peterson. You can find part one right here. Part two of that story is right here. Part three is right here.
