They didn't get it done Friday night in Utah.
They'll get another chance tonight.
The Timberwolves can again play spoiler as their troubled 2013 season winds down with a win over Utah (42-38) tonight at Target Center.
It's the final home game of the year for Minnesota (30-50), who wrap up play Wednesday in San Antonio.
A victory over the Jazz will knock Utah out of playoff contention. Right now, the Jazz are 1.5 games behind the Los Angeles Lakers for the eighth playoff spot in the Western Conference. They need two victories and a Laker loss to get in.
Minnesota had an opportunity to derail the Jazz Friday night, but lost 107-100 in Utah -- with Al Jefferson tying a career-high 40 points against his former team.
Also at stake for the Wolves: A 30-plus win season. They haven't won more than 30 games since the 2006-07 season.
They'd also like to avoid being swept by the Jazz in a season series. That hasn't happened since 1998-99.
