St. Cloud State renames hockey arena after Herb Brooks

St. Cloud State University will rename its hockey arena after Herb Brooks, the St. Cloud Times reports.

Brooks, who coached the Huskies in the 1986-87 season, helped get state funding for the arena, which opened in 1989.

The arena had previously been known as the National Hockey Center. Now it will be called the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.
