The Huskies' senior, who missed most of his junior season with a broken leg, led St. Cloud State to its first Frozen Four appearance in school history.

LeBlanc is the first player from St. Cloud State to win the award, which is given to the nation's best college hockey player.

SCSU lost to No. 1 Quinnipiac, 4-1 in the national semifinals on Thursday.

LeBlanc was also named the WCHA player and student of the year.

After winning the award, LeBlanc signed a contract with the Chicago Blackhawks.
