Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa topped Southwest Minnesota Christian 54-45 to win the 1A championship -- and remain perfect for the season. In Class 2A Plainview-Elgin-Millville defeated Litchfield 55-39. In the 3A championship game, DeLaSalle hit a last-second two-pointer to squeak by Minneapolis Washburn 57-56. The 4A championship was also a buzzer-beater finish -- Osseo held on to beat Lakeville North 49-47.

Preview Saturday's Prep Bowl Games

Saturday marks the end of an outstanding high school football season. Two games will be played at Metrodome for the final two Prep Bowl champions. Bemidji plays Rocori in Class 4A and St. Croix Lutheran faces Fairmont in Class 3A.

Injured St. Croix Lutheran High School hockey player returns home

The Star Tribune reports Jenna Privette was released from Gillette Children's Hospital Friday. The high school senior is recovering from an injury during a hockey game last month. According to her Caringbridge site, she started to regain feeling in her thighs last week.

The 2012 State Girls' Volleyball Tournament is complete. The top-seeded Lakeville North Panthers won the Class 3A title Saturday night at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul after defeating Eden Prairie Eagles with a 25-21, 25-19, 19-25, 25-18 victory. It was a rematch of last year's championship match.

In an incident eerily similar to one that left a Benilde-St. Margaret's hockey player hospitalized, Jenna Privette was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center after an illegal check from behind left her unable to move.

Hopkins defended its title against Osseo in the the Class AAAA championship game. In Class AAA, DeLaSalle powered past Richfield for its second state title. Maranatha Christian Academy won its second straight Class A title and Providence Academy took the Class AA championship at the State Girls' Basketball Tournament.

St. Croix Lutheran hockey player Jenna Privette joins varsity softball team

The high school senior continues to recover from a game injury that left her temporarily paralyzed in January. KARE 11 reports Privette had three hits during her first game Wednesday night to help lead the team to a 10-5 victory.
