St. Paul is one step closer to seeing a new Saints ballpark in Lowertown. The city council voted unanimously on Wednesday to approve a financing plan for a $54 million ballpark in downtown St. Paul near the Farmers' Market – an upgrade from aging Midway Stadium. According to the plan, the city will put $17 million toward the project, and the Saints would pay $10 million. The city applied to the state for the other half of the cost.
