Tommies' Caruso wins third straight Coach of the Year award

St. Thomas football coach Glenn Caruso was named the Liberty Mutual Division III National Coach of the Year on Monday. He received the award before the BCS National Championship game in Miami Florida. It's the third straight year Caruso has won the award.

The Tommies lost to Mount Union in the Division III National Championship game. Caruso has compiled a 57-8 record in five full season at St. Thomas.

University of St. Thomas' Glenn Caruso has been named the Division III Liberty Mutual coach of the year. It's the highest honor for Division III football coach. The award recognizes sportsmanship, integrity, responsibility and excellence, on and off field.

Tommies advance to College World Series

The St. Thomas Tommies cruised through the regional playoffs and landed a spot in the Division III College World Series. Eight teams will battle for the championship beginning Friday in Whitewater, Wisconsin. The Tommies previously won national titles in 2009 and 2001.
