Tommies advance to College World Series

The St. Thomas Tommies cruised through the regional playoffs and landed a spot in the Division III College World Series. Eight teams will battle for the championship beginning Friday in Whitewater, Wisconsin. The Tommies previously won national titles in 2009 and 2001.

University of St. Thomas' Glenn Caruso has been named the Division III Liberty Mutual coach of the year. It's the highest honor for Division III football coach. The award recognizes sportsmanship, integrity, responsibility and excellence, on and off field.
