Niklas Backstrom's 25th career shutout helped the Wild to a 1-0 in over the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night. Minnesota was out-shot 37-21, but Greg Zanon found a way to put one in the net in the first period for the game winner.

Stars beat Wild in shootout

Minnesota's Kyle Brodziak scored a third-period breakaway goal against the Stars to force overtime Saturday night in Dallas. Niklas Backstrom had 33 saves through overtime, but was beaten twice in the shootout to give the Stars (27-22-2) their 2-1 victory. The Wild (25-19-8) will wrap up their three-game road trip on Tuesday in Columbus.
