The Washington Capitals blanked the Wild, 3-0 in the nation's capital Sunday. It's the eighth time the Wild has been shutout this season. Only seven games remain on the schedule, with the next coming Tuesday night against Marian Gaborik and the Rangers.

It was a defensive struggle between the Wild and Avalanche Thursday night at Xcel Energy Center. The game was scoreless until Devin Setoguchi scored with 2:31 left in the third period giving Minnesota the win. Niklas Backstrom stopped 26-shots in the shutout effort.

Stars beat Wild in shootout

Minnesota's Kyle Brodziak scored a third-period breakaway goal against the Stars to force overtime Saturday night in Dallas. Niklas Backstrom had 33 saves through overtime, but was beaten twice in the shootout to give the Stars (27-22-2) their 2-1 victory. The Wild (25-19-8) will wrap up their three-game road trip on Tuesday in Columbus.
