T-Wolves lose their way on Portland trail

Kevin Love had 24 points and 13 rebounds, but the Minnesota Timberwolves fell to Portland 103-95 on Friday night.

The Wolves shot just 41 percent, and were 3-for-18 from 3-point range. Nikola Pekovic had 18 and Luke Ridnour put in 14. Minnesota ranks 26th overall in the NBA in points per game.

Wesley Matthews had 30 and Damian Lillard had 28 for the Trail Blazers.

Minnesota (5-6) has lost four straight after a promising start.

The Wolves continue a West Coast swing on Saturday night against the Golden State Warriors at 9:30 p.m.

Love, Wolves pound Portland for third straight win

The Timberwolves pounded Portland, 106-94 Wednesday night at Target Center for their third straight win, and fifth straight at home. Kevin Love continued his torrid pace with 29 points and 16 rebounds and Wes Johnson had his best game as a pro, scoring 19 points on 8-11 shooting.

T-Wolves try to avoid 10-game skid

The Timberwolves are in Indianapolis tonight to take on the Pacers. The Wolves are mired in a nine-game losing streak, their longest since an 18-game skid a few years ago. No word if Kevin Love will be in the lineup. If not, center Nikola Pekovic says “some other players need to step up.”
