Tarkenton slides down two spots on all-time pass TD list

Two of the most prolific quarterbacks of our time have passed the most prolific quarterback in Vikings history on the all-time passing touchdown list today.

Fran Tarkenton and his 342 career passing TDs have slid down to sixth on that list, with Tom Brady, who came into the day tied with Tark, and Drew Brees, who trailed the Vikings legend by four touchdowns entering the day, putting up wins and passing the second quarterback in Purple history.

Brady, who at one point put up 52 consecutive games with a passing TD, threw one today in a 27-17 win over the Dolphins. Brady had been without a touchdown two of the previous three games after breaking the aforementioned streak, but did enough to give New England their sixth win of the season today.

Brees, the only man to have more consecutive games with a touchdown pass than Brady in NFL history (54), threw five touchdowns for the New Orleans in a 35-17 win over Buffalo. The Saints are 6-1, well on their way to another NFC South crown.

Brady and Brees are now tied for fourth on the list, trailing only Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, and Dan Marino.

It will be quite some time until Brees or Brady pass third-place Marino, who sits 73 touchdowns ahead of the active duo.
