Ex-Vikings quarterback Fran Tarkenton has some advice for the struggling Christian Ponder. In his Pioneer Press blog, Tark says Ponder has to stop listening to critics, focus on “who you are” and take control of the offensive game plan.

Tarkenton isn't the only one focused on Ponder's problems and what to do about it. The Star Tribune's Dan Weiderer -- in his Tuesday Vikings chat -- said it's only fair that Ponder be given the "rest of this season to prove exactly what he is."

Bill Hubbell over at the Bleacher Report agrees with Weiderer. As he writes: "You continue to play him" ... because ... "Plenty of guys drafted higher than him have failed."
