Whalen helps Team USA women win opening game at Olympics
Former Gopher and current Lynx star Lindsay Whalen helped the women's U.S. national team win their first basketball game in the London Olympics Saturday, beating Croatia 81-56. Whalen scored nine points in 19 minutes on the court, while her Lynx teammates, Maya Moore and Seimone Augustus, had four and two points, respectively.
Lynx cool off Fever, 66-64
The Lynx are back in the win column after beating the Indiana Fever, 66-64 on the road last night. Seimone Augustus missed a third straight game for Minnesota, but Maya Moore scored 15 points and Lindsay Whalen added 14 to lead the Lynx to their 25th win of the season.
