Teddy Bridgewater again among NFL's best QBs in December

The next time Teddy Bridgewater steps on the field for a game the calendar will have turned to January, but the Vikings hope the second-year quarterback keeps firing footballs like he has in December.

For whatever the reason, Bridgewater has been one of the NFL's best quarterbacks in the month of December. His passer rating of 107.9 in December over the last two years is third best in the NFL, the Vikings say.

And he's been especially hot over the last three games, completing 70.4 percent of his passes for 734 yards, 6 touchdowns and no interceptions.

"He's played like a real guy," an unnamed executive from an NFC team described Bridgewater to the Milwaukee-Journal Sentinel, while adding that Bridgewater has been "more decisive getting rid of the ball."

Bridgewater was hot at the end of his rookie season only to have the season end without a trip to the playoffs. With a trip to the postseason already booked this year, maybe Vikings fans will be treated to a continually improving Bridgewater when the games matter most.

Eleven of 12 playoff teams are already decided, with the Jets and Steelers vying for the final spot in the AFC. But take a look at the current starting quarterbacks for teams already in – the AFC is filled with backups and career journeymen while the NFC is stacked with star power.
