For the first time since 2010, the FCS will have a new national champion. The five-time defending champion North Dakota State University Bison fell to the James Madison Dukes 27-17 in an FCS semifinal game in Fargo Friday night.

The Dukes defense did an amazing job of slowing down the potent Bison offense, limiting quarterback Easton Stick to zero touchdowns and their running game to just 3.4 yards per carry.

James Madison running back Khalid Abdullah ran all over the place for 180 yards on 23 carries. All in all James Madison outgained NDSU 443-348.

The Bison overcame a 17-0 first-half deficit but the Dukes solidified their win with a 25-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Bryan Schor in the 4th quarter.

The Dukes will advance to the national championship game in Frisco, Texas on Jan. 7.

NDSU became the first football team in NCAA history to win five straight championships when they beat Jacksonville State earlier this year.

Looks like they'll have to start a new dynasty next season.
