Hey, it's Tiny Joe Nelson from FM 100.3 KFAN. I cover high school sports all season long, and I'm glad to be a part of our prep sports coverage during the winter sports season here at BringMeTheNews. Instead of throwing up rankings, we are taking this one step further by putting together my weekly "fabulous five" sports stories. Check back every Monday night for updates.

Here is my latest "Fabulous Five."

5. There is a another Tyus in town
While sophomore sensation Tyus Jones is grabbing headlines at Apple Valley high school, senior Marcus Tyus is scoring at will at Anoka. The Nebraska-Omaha recruit is averaging 28 points/game. Take a look at his game-log through six games.

4. Osseo tight end picks West Virginia
Gophers' fans should be disappointed to find out Osseo tight end Will Johnson verbally committed to West Virginia last week. The 6-foot-7, 250-pound football star is one of 19 Division-I football recruits in Minnesota.

3. Top-ranked Red Knights defeat No. 1 Hopkins
I previewed this game in last week's Fabulous Five. It was a sensational match-up between the top teams in class 3A and 4A, and the 3A school came out on top 76-71. Benilde St. Margaret's was led by Northwestern recruit, Sanjay Lumpkin, who finished with 22-points.

2. Andover's Josh Ripley honored again
The junior varsity cross-country runner from Andover made a name for himself earlier this year when he carried an injured runner a half-mile back to the starting line. The good deed now has Ripley in good graces with Liberty Mutual Insurance and Positive Coaching Alliance's top-10 "responsible sports moments" of the year.

1. Anders Broman is unstoppable
This Lakeview Christian Academy (Duluth) basketball star is on pace to shatter the state's all-time boys basketball scoring record. Broman scored 48-points in a triple-double effort in Lakeview Christian's 99-78 victory of Heritage Christian. The junior is averaging 49.5 points/game this season. Check out his scoring tracker right here.
