Chisholm: Vintage baseball is a hit
1860s style ball returned to the Iron Range last weekend as players from around the state got together for a game vintage baseball. No gloves, thin bats and a rule that allows the ball to bounce once and be caught for an out are just a few of the reasons the classic style still draws a crowd.

Duluth: Bulldogs No. 1 in D2 football poll
After a sensational 2014 season that ended with a lopsided loss to Minnesota State-Mankato in the NCAA quarterfinals, the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs are No. 1 in the The Sporting News Division II college football preseason poll. Mankato is ranked sixth in the poll.

Mankato: MoonDogs reunite from afar
The Northwoods League is comprised of players from all over the country. Most of the college stars playing in the popular in the summer baseball league stay with a host family, and the guys playing for the Mankato MoonDogs are no different. But the transition of playing in a new town and staying with a new family has been easier for Boomer Synek and Jack Czeszewski. The two MoonDogs grew up together in Chicago, and they've reunited in Mankato.
