Red Wing football field named after beloved coach
The varsity football field at Red Wing High School will now be known as Russ 'Cougar' Marshall Field. Marshall was a football coach for decades at the high school, mostly with the freshman team and never as the varsity head coach. The Red Wing school board approved the decision Monday, just hours after Marshall died at the age of 69.

UMD hires two assistant women's hockey coaches
The University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey team has two new assistant coaches. Laura Bellamy (a Duluth native) and Samantha Reber (from Edina) will join new head coach Maura Crowell on the bench this season. Bellamy graduated from Duluth Denfeld High School and was the Let's Play Hockey Senior Goalie of the Year in 2009. Reber just finished her senior season at Harvard (where Crowell and Bellamy both coached) – she notched 32 points in 36 games and helped lead Harvard to the NCAA title game this year.
