The Twins will place left-handed relief pitcher Caleb Thielbar on the bereavement list so he can attend the funeral of his grandmother on Friday.

Michael Tonkin will be called up from Triple-A Rochester to take Thielbar's spot in the bullpen. The Pioneer Press reports he'll meet the Twins in Florida in time for Thursday's series finale against the Rays.

Tonkin is a 6-foot-7, 220 pound right-hander.

Thielbar is expected to rejoin the Twins in time for Sunday's series finale against the Yankees at Yankee Stadium.
