Tiger Woods getting closer, shares video of himself hitting a stinger

Maybe more shots like this will put the PGA Tour on notice.

Tiger Woods appears to be on the fast track to a return to the PGA Tour now that he's publicly showing videos of himself taking full swings with his driver.

"Return of the Stinger," Woods wrote on an Instagram post of him smashing an iron on Monday.

Last week he posted the first video of himself hitting driver, which is something he wasn't close to doing a month ago.

In fact, in a blog post from Sept. 22, the 41-year-old said he had yet to take a full swing with a club and that he was isolated to chipping, putting, and hitting some 60-yard wedges.

Clearly, he's come a long way since that blog.

Believe it or not, the 2017-18 PGA Tour season begins next week, but Woods, as of that Sept. 22 blog, wasn't ready to commit to a timetable for his return to competitive golf after undergoing back fusion surgery in April.

Now it's just a matter of him figuring out what kind of swing he'll use.
