Timberwolves defeat Jazz 100-97 for their first win of the season

Things got dicey at the end, but Minnesota held on for the win.

The Timberwolves picked up their first win of the season with a 100-97 victory over the Utah Jazz.

The Wolves let a 10-point lead slip away in the final five-minutes of regulation, but were able to seal the deal in the final minute thanks to a 3-pointer by Jamal Crawford and a couple free throws from Jimmy Butler.

Karl-Anthony Towns led the way with 20 points and 10 rebounds. As a team, Minnesota shot 44 percent from the floor in the win.

  • Andrew Wiggins, 21 points
  • Jimmy Butler, 13 points
  • Jamal Crawford, 17 points

Former point guard Ricky Rubio put up 19 points on 10 assists in his first return to the Target Center.

With the win the Timberwolves are 1-1 on the season and will travel to Oklahoma City on Sunday to play the Thunder.
