After going 15-1 in the 1998 regular season, the Vikings lost to Atlanta in overtime, 30-27, in the NFC Championship game on Jan. 17, 1999.

David Zingler wrote a re-cap for MinnPost on the 10-year anniversary of that Purple downer a few years ago. His bottom line: "I can't help but wonder what might have been had Gary Anderson made that kick."
