Tiny Joe's KFAN/BMTN prep football rankings

After four weeks of high school football the prep rankings are really starting to take shape. The top teams in each class have been established, but there are still quite a few teams looking to take a step in the second half of the season and challenge the state's best teams.

Hey everyone it's Joe Nelson from FM 100.3 KFAN's Paul Allen Show. Believe it or not the high school football season is already halfway over. After four weeks of play here is how I rank my top-five teams.

1. Eden Prairie

56-7 over Hopkins, are you kidding me? I know these guys have to play the games just like everyone else, but I'm getting close to penciling them in as champions.

2. Lakeville South
I've seen way too much of Mitchell Leidner to avoid placing them any lower in my rankings. He is tall, strong, fast, and hitting on 83-percent of his passes. The Cougars will challenge for a title this year. Big tests lurk over the next two weeks against Rosemount and Lakeville North.

3. Wayzata
The Trojans just beat a highly rated team from Chicago. That counts for a lot in my book.

4. Cretin-Derham Hall

This team will, without a doubt, run the table in the Suburban East Conference and probably stroll through section 3-5A into the state tournament.

5. Minnetonka

We'll find out what the Skippers are made of over the next two weeks as they face Wayzata and Eden Prairie.
