The Austria Press Agency reported that Morgenstern briefly lost consciousness but was able to speak shortly afterward, but he was hospitalized with unknown injuries. It's Morgenstern's second crash in less than a month. He suffered cuts to his face and a broken finger when he lost control of a jump Dec. 15 in Germany.

The Washington Post compiled photos of Friday's crash. Morgenstern can be seen falling on his back and head before tumbling down the hill with his face driving through the snow.
