Nick Gordon, the Twins top prospect this season is lighting it for the Chattanooga Lookouts. Gordon recorded his fifth three-hit game on Friday night, raising his batting average to .340 this season.

The former fifth-overall pick in the MLB Draft has career highs in on base percentage (.402) and slugging percentage (.490).

He's been patient at the plate too, drawing 11 walks this season. Last year, Gordon drew just 23 walks in 116 games.

Gordon's never been known as a power hitter but he's just one home run away from tying his career high of 3 which was set last season.

"Nick's always been confident and had a good feel for the game," His manager Jake Mauer said to MILB.com.

"He still needs to get stronger, which he will, but I think he's just a little more comfortable with everything now. He's off to a really good start, and I just see him continuing on."

After playing shortstop for the majority of his career, he's now splitting time at second base. In 25 games this season, Gordon has played 13 at short and 10 at second.

The Twins drafted Gordon straight out of high school and although this his fourth season in the minor leagues, he's still just 21 years old. According to MLB.com, Gordon is the 44th best prospect in all of baseball.
