Torchetti: Wild without Scandella in Edmonton, he'll be re-evaluated for weekend

Author:

The Minnesota Wild will again be without defenseman Marco Scandella as they close their three-game road trip through western Canada in Edmonton Thursday night.

The news was confirmed by interim Wild coach John Torchetti, but he hasn't given many details about why Scandella won't play.

There's also no timeline for how long he may be out. He's expected to meet with a doctor when the Wild return from Edmonton, leaving his status for Sunday's stadium series game very much in doubt.

Scandella has 14 points (5 goals, 9 assists) in 49 games for the Wild this season.

Minnesota beat Calgary 5-3 Wednesday night without Scandella, for their second consecutive victory. It's the first time the Wild have won two straight since late December.

The Wild close the road trip against the Oilers tonight, and will host Chicago Sunday afternoon at TCF Bank Stadium.
