After an outburst and ejection from Wednesday's Twins game against the Royals, the league has thrown Torii Hunter a two-game suspension.

"I think it's a little harsh," Hunter told the Pioneer Press in a video. For the first time ever in his career, Hunter plans to appeal, according to the Pioneer Press.

On Wednesday, Hunter was ejected by home plate umpire Mark Ripperger.

Hunter took issue with a third strike call near the end of the game against the Royals, which the Twins lost 7-2.

He was restrained at one point, removed his pads, batting glove and jersey and tossed them before going to the dugout, ESPN reports.

CBS Sports notes, along with the suspension, Hunter will get fined an undisclosed amount.

Hunter is eligible for Friday's game against the Rangers, ESPN reports.

Twins' Manager Paul Molitor was also ejected, but he expects a fine, the Pioneer Press reports.

No word yet on when the appeal will be heard.

Hunter was suspended for four games in 2010 after he tossed a bag of baseballs onto the field following his ejection over a strike three call from home plate umpire Ron Kulpa.
