Trade bait: Morneau, Willingham, Correia could move before deadline

Hear that?

Those are the trade winds blowing again.

Major league baseball clubs have until midnight eastern time on Saturday (Aug. 31) to make a move in order for new players to be eligible for playoff rosters.

For the Twins, it means Justin Morneau, Josh Willingham and Kevin Correia could all be outta here.

Morneau: He cleared waivers in July, meaning the Twins can deal him to any club at any time. CBS. com's Jon Heyman writes that the Pittsburgh Pirates are sniffing around for an extra bat, and Morneau is in their crosshairs again.

Willingham: He was reportedly put on waivers Tuesday. That means that any club that claims him has a few days to work out a deal with the Twins. According to the Star Tribune, Willingham says being on waivers is "no big deal." But if he's dealt to a contender -- he could be headed to the postseason for the first time in his career.

Correia: No word if he's on waivers, but Correia tossed seven shutout innings last night at Target Field against the Royals, showing the baseball world he still has something in the tank. As the Strib's Phil Miller wrote, maybe Correia "added himself to a few ask-about lists."
