Twins beat Orioles 5-2, take series

The Minnesota Twins beat the Baltimore Orioles, 5-2, Sunday afternoon at Target Field, with help from veteran catcher and now run producer, Kurt Suzuki, the Star Tribune says.

Suzuki doubled twice, singled once and walked once, which helped earn him a total of 22 RBIs this season. That's twice as many as he's ever had at this time in a season, the newspaper says.

Trever Plouffe put the Twins on the board in the third inning with a two-run double.

Pitcher Phil Hughes collected his third consecutive victory in the win, the Twins say.

Joe Mauer left Sunday's game in the third inning with back spasms. He's listed as day to day.

The Twins won the series against the Orioles, 2-1.

Next up, the Twins head to Cleveland for a Monday night game.
