Twins bring Byron Buxton back from the minors

Byron Buxton is back with the Minnesota Twins – once again.

The question is, will he be able to stick with the club this time?

Buxton was recalled from Triple-A Rochester and will be at Target Field for the opener of Minnesota's four-game series with the Chicago White Sox Thursday night.

A season-ending injury for Danny Santana and a bothersome oblique for Robbie Grossman forced the Twins' hand.

Buxton has been swinging a hot bat as of late. He was named the International League Batter of the Week last week after he homered four times last week.

Strikeouts still appear to be a concern with for the 22-year-old, he fanned 31 times in 78 plate appearances in Rochester this during his recent stint.

Buxton was sent down to minors in early August after hitting just .193 over 218 big league plate appearances.

The Twins hope Buxton will be able to finish the season on a high note to build momentum heading into next season. He's expected to see time in center field with Logan Schafer, who was called up on Monday.
