Twins farm club: Marriage proposal rejection faked for YouTube hits

If you saw this video ... and thought the marriage proposal was real ... well, the New Britain Rock Cats (a Twins Class AA affiliate) would like to apologize. It was a staged event:

The team says it faked the between-innings bit as a publicity stunt. And it worked. The video has more than 600,000 hits on YouTube.

According to the Star Tribune, two Rock Cats employees stood in for the unhappy couple.

That apology, by the way, isn't the most sincere. The club's marketing VP says the team hoped the video would go viral, and is "pleased with the outcome."
