The 2012 Minnesota Twins roster probably won't resemble the 2011 roster very much. Michael Cuddyer and Jason Kubel will be free-agents while Matt Capps and Joe Nathan could also end up elsewhere. Those are some of the names on a roster full of question marks.

Joe Nathan isn't sounding like he's too torn up over the Twins' passing on his 2012 option. The reliever tells the Pioneer Press that he's looking forward to what the free market will bring. If he doesn't re-sign with Minnesota, Nathan says Glen Perkins is a prime candidate to take his spot.

La Velle Neal III of the Star Tribune reports the Twins are finalizing a deal with closer Matt Capps. Capps lost his closer role to Joe Nathan midway through last season. Neal also reports the Twins can't afford to sign Mark Buehrle, but will be making a strong push to re-sign Michael Cuddyer.

Tolbert, Repko, Slama optioned to AAA

The Minnesota Twins outrighted infielder Matt Tolbert, outfielder Jason Repko, catcher Rene Rivera, and reliever Anthony Slama to Triple-A Rochester. Tolbert, Repko, and Rivera become free agents but the Twins decided to retain the rights to Slama. The moves create room on the 40-man roster.
