The Twins are playing their best baseball of the season, having won seven of their last eight games.

Consistent winning has them just a half-game back of being a Wild Card team and within striking distance in the AL Central Division.

Even though the non-waiver trade deadline has passed, general manager Thad Levine is still looking at ways to improve the his club.

“We’ve placed a lot of claims on players we think can help our team now and in the future," said Levine to Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com. "Needless to say, we haven’t made a trade yet, which is evidence to the fact that we may not be the only team that thinks those players would be attractive."

MLB teams can still make trades by placing players through revocable waivers. Although the Twins are winning a lot of games lately, the team still lacks starting pitching depth.

Starters like Marco Estrada and J.A. Happ of the Toronto Blue Jays are two names Minnesota could acquire through the waiver wire.

Estrada has an ERA of 4.85 but was an All-Star last season and he's still striking out a ton of batters.

Happ is having another solid season on the mound for Toronto. The 34-year-old lefty has an ERA of 3.63 and he's punched out 93 batters in 96 innings.
