Twins' hitting coach Joe Vavra called a hitters only meeting before Sunday's series finale against the Mariners. With just nine hits in the last four games Vavra said it was time for him talk to the players and try to "simplify" the strategy a little bit.

Jered Weaver throws no-hitter against Twins

Angels' starter Jered Weaver threw a no-hitter against the Twins Wednesday night. The 6-foot-7 right-hander struck out nine and walked one. It's the first time the Twins have been no-hit since David Wells threw a perfect game against them in 1998.

There were several reports from Target Field Saturday that Justin Morneau was hitting a ball off of a tee. He has been on the disabled list retroactive to May 1 with a sore left wrist. Morneau did not take full batting practice.
