Twins honor Tom Kelly, retire jersey in pre-game ceremony

Former Twins manager Tom Kelly was at Target Field Saturday night for an hour-long ceremony to retire his No. 10 jersey. Several former Twins were on-hand to honor the manager, who led the Twins to World Series victories in 1987 and 1991. Among them were Hall of Famer players Bert Blyleven, Rod Carew and Paul Molitor, as well as team greats Dan Gladden, Kent Hrbek, Jack Morris and Tony Oliva.

The Minnesota Twins surprised two time World Series champion manager Tom Kelly by informing him that his No. 10 jersey will be retired. The announcement was made during Thursday night's annual Diamond Awards banquet at Target Field. September 8th will be known as "Tom Kelly Day."
